this is your life

I think I have mentioned earlier that I am a fan of chalkboard paint! I love the use of it here. So FUN! Cheers to a great week - remember - this is your life! xo

a saturday surprise: move, learn, eat

I don't normally post on the weekends, but these three 1 minute films by Rik Mereki were too good to wait, and I want you to have time to watch them! All the fantastic things about travel are wrapped up so beautifully in these little gems. Three guys, 44 days, 11 countries, almost a terabyte of footage, and this is what you get. Wonderful! Enjoy! xo

colorful flat in madrid

Here is a space that you will not be surprised to learn that I love. So fun and sophisticated. This flat also has some gorgeous wood elements, which balances the home so well. Take a look at that bedroom, who wouldn't want to sleep there? You might also notice this house has some fantastic chairs. YUM!

I've been thinking a lot about chairs. Here are few that I think are just beautiful.

at home with life

Thanks once again to my friend, Alison who sent me a link to this house, saying "here's a Jorden house..." and she was right. I love this southern Californian home. I think the swing in the living room is especially brilliant! I want one! Another thing about this house that's great and that Alison observed is that it actually looks like people live there. Dogs, photos, books, all the things that make a house a home. Enjoy and thanks, Alison for sharing this!

lovely and amazing

I found this most amazing gift in my garden recently. A Junco chose to make her nest right next to my greens. The tiny spotted eggs were the most gorgeous little things I've ever seen. Now, we have baby birdies in our yard! Sadly, two did not make it. I did get to see them when there were four little beaks in the nest. When we returned from Haines yesterday, there were only two little beaks, although they are bigger and stronger and now you can see all their feathers growing in. So incredible! I will keep you posted on their growth. Next picture will be of the baby birdies. Happy Monday!
